The LIFT family is mourning along with Father Jamels James,
the passing of his father, F. James.
He was a grandfather figure to the LIFT students, a pivotal staff member in India, and a mentor and so much more to Father Jamels. He and his wife, Soosaiammal raised an amazing family and spent their retirement dedicated to the LIFT Family. F. James once shared that the only thing that saddened him when Fr. Jamels announced his desire to become a Priest was that he would never see his son start a family, but said he was blessed beyond his prayers because he had more grandchildren than he ever dreamed of. He made LIFT a welcoming and supportive home for destitute and hopeless children.
Although his loss is difficult, let us, the students and LIFT community continue on in his spirit of love and generosity. Should you wish to share your condolences with Father Jamels cards and letters can be sent to the LIFT USA address where we will forward them onto Father Jamels in India.
